Hey, if you are new around here, welcome, and if you are a returning friend, welcome back, it’s good to have you here! So, it’s March 2021 can you believe that it has been 1 whole year since everything turned upside down? Crazy. I just wanted to check in and update you on everything. But before I do that, how are you? Are you taking care of yourself? Drink some water, exercise a bit today and make sure to take some time for yourself even if it is 15 minutes; every little bit counts!
It’s been 1 full year since COVID hit, and to say that things changed would be an understatement. Most things are still postponed and travelling is halted and although this is not where we all want to be, it’s important to keep small victories in check so we can keep going. Take a moment now to celebrate that you are still here, I know it sounds kind of ridiculous, but if there is one thing that 2020 has taught us it’s that we are still here and we will do what we can to keep it that way. Things like keeping our distance, working remotely and virtually, and keeping everyone safe is all we can do. And while it can be difficult, celebrating those small victories will make you feel a lot better both in the short-term and in the long run. Keeping yourself healthy and happy is one of those victories; a simple way of doing so is by making your favourite breakfast when you were a kid, going for a walk around the park to get fresh air, or even blasting your favourite songs the minute you wake up to get you in a good mood for the rest of the day.
Doing something new, even if it is small, can change the game for you. If you still feel a little too isolated, join online classes such as painting, or joining us for a dance class, that way you are able to meet new people, see some familiar faces, and get you out of that repetitive rut that might be getting to you. Online classes are a great way to get you excited about things you love doing and connects you with some friends you haven’t seen because of safety guidelines. If you are interested in starting something new to get you excited about the day ahead, at STU Arts Dance we're offering online classes so you are able to stay active, get creative, see some good friends all in the comfort of your own home.
While it may feel like what we are doing is redundant and not working, it is important to keep in mind that we are slowly getting back into normalcy with vaccines being distributed; BUT we do need to keep doing the same core things to ensure our full return. So, masks are still your best friend, and social distancing is your favourite pastime ahah. And before you know it, vaccines are distributed and you're able to get back to your favourite activities such as dance class with us!
Keep in mind, while it has been a year (absolutely crazy!), we still got this, we’re going to get through this together and when it’s all done we're going to have a massive dance party together! If you would like to learn more about online classes with us, check out our website here to learn how to get started. Can’t wait to see you out there jamming it out with us (safely and remotely of course ☺).
Stay safe and stay healthy,
BYEEEE
