Hello hello! Welcome back to another STU Arts blog! As you may have read, STU Arts Dance is going to be taking a little break from our regular classes. However, we wouldn’t leave you all alone for this semester. We are offering some amazing workshops. Now I know what you might be wondering right now “what even is a workshop”, “what is the difference between the two”” where can I sign up?”. All valid questions, and I am here to answer all for you! So without further ado, here are 5 reasons why dance workshops are worth it!
1. What are dance workshops
Before listing off what the benefits are of dance workshops, it’s important to know what they are. Essentially dance workshops are like classes, however they are not as regular, and oftentimes a little longer than a regular 1 hour class. You are there to learn like a regular class, but they are open to more people, levels and you are not tied down with a yearly subscription to a dance class. If you want to learn how to dance, or to get a feel of the studio before 100% committing, I highly recommend attending a dance workshop!
2. No yearly subscription
As mentioned above, dance workshops are great if you are not looking for a longer commitment. You will still be getting a killer dance class, but you can also attend whenever you want without having to feel like you are losing your money’s worth of dance classes! If you need a subtle pick-me-up or even just a little escape from your hectic life, a dance workshop is great to have some commitment but also not feel tied down!
3. Getting fit by having fun.
I mean, who doesn’t want to get fit while dancing?! Dancing holds many benefits such as improving your physical health, increasing mobility, increasing body coordination and much more! But what is even better is, you are doing all of this while having fun. Dance workshops are a great way to get in your exercise without having to feel like you worked for it. All you need are comfortable clothes, good shoes, a bomb playlist and a great dance workshop!
4. Let’s get social!
Need a little break from your life? Don’t worry we all do, and dance workshops are a great way to get out of that rut and socialize with some friends. Pop-in to your dance workshop to see some familiar and friendly faces and enjoy your time of being in the moment. Having that little form of escape can do wonders for your mental health and on top of that you are exercising, therefore, taking care of your physical health. If you are new to the dance world, workshops are also a great place to build a community and encourage you along your dancing journey!
5. Join the fun with different styles.
One of the best things about dance workshops is that you can pick and choose which genre of dance you would like to try! The versatility that dance workshops hold are a great way of trying new things while also sticking to learning how to dance. Alongside not having a solid commitment, you can see what styles you are most interested in, and attend!
While dance classes are amazing, dance workshops are a little hidden gem that offer so much to new and\or pro dancers. You can try new things, gain new experience and create memories all while doing what you love—dancing!
